MRH Trowe’s water sports hull insurance covers not only the watercraft itself, but also numerous permanently installed and carried components. Depending on the agreed terms, insured items include in particular:

  • The watercraft including permanently installed parts

  • Inventory and accessories, e.g. nautical equipment or safety gear
  • Launching trolleys or tenders, provided they belong to the vessel
  • Personal effects of authorised users
  • Boat trailers – if contractually insured
  • Water sports liability insurance – if agreed

What is included in the scope of cover of the water sports hull insurance?

The insurance provides far more than protection against classic loss events. Depending on the contractual arrangement, coverage includes in particular:

  • Coverage of third-party liability claims, e.g. for property damage or personal injury caused by accidents for which the insured is responsible
  • Coverage of salvage or rescue costs following a loss event
  • Reimbursement of repair costs after an insured loss
  • Coverage of transport costs for the damaged boat to the nearest repair facility
  • Insurance cover for accidents caused by the policyholder
  • No deductible (if contractually agreed)

Optional: Personal accident insurance for sport boat occupants

  • All authorised occupants of the boat are insured
  • Insurance cover applies from entering the vessel until leaving it
  • Accidents resulting in injury or death are covered
Insured Persons

Who is insured under the water sports hull insurance?

The insurance not only protects the vessel, but also the people who use it or are lawfully in possession of it. Insured persons include:

  • The owner of the insured watercraft
  • All authorised users who operate the watercraft with the owner’s consent
