Insured risks & hazards

CAR insurance offers protection against a variety of unforeseeable risks that can occur during the construction period, including:

  • Exceptional weather conditions such as storms, hail or flooding
  • Fire, explosion, lightning strike (unless covered separately by builder’s fire risk insurance during construction)
  • Theft of permanently installed components, e.g. windows or doors
  • Execution errors or negligent actions during construction work
  • Vandalism on the construction site
  • Water damage to parts of the building already completed
  • Subsoil risks, e.g. damage due to unknown properties of the subsoil
